Bryan Adams’s Australia concert cancelled due to overflowing sewage
Singer Bryan Adams’s concert in Perth, Australia, was cancelled due to overflowing sewage caused by a “large blockage” of fat, grease, and rags. The Canadian singer was set to perform in the city, but the state water corporation cancelled the event due to the risk of sewage backing up in the venue’s toilets.
In a statement released on the night of the concert, it said, “Our crews are working to clear the large blockage of fat, grease and rags, which has caused several wastewater overflows at properties.”
On Monday, an update stated that the “blockage couldn’t be dislodged,” leading to the “incredibly tough decision to cancel the Bryan Adams concert.”
It added, “Contingencies, including sucker trucks, were considered, but the wastewater volume from a full-capacity crowd of 16,000 at the Arena was too great. We understand people’s disappointment and frustration.”
According to the BBC, Bryan Adams apologised to fans on social media, thanked them for their patience and support, and promised to reschedule the show.
