Dalit family attacked in Rajasthan over land dispute, 7 injured

A Dalit family was attacked by a group of 20 to 25 people in Rajasthan’s Ramgarh area. The incident, captured on video, went viral on social media.

Seven members of the family were injured in the attack.

According to police, the attack took place on Sunday in Goha village. The group allegedly used sticks and sharp weapons. The injured were taken to government and private hospitals. Two were referred to a higher medical centre.

Mukesh Kumar Jatav, a member of the affected family, said they were harvesting mustard on their land when the group attacked. “They came with sticks and weapons and started beating us,” he said. “My family owns this land, and we were working on it.”

Police registered a case and detained some suspects. “A dispute over land led to the attack,” said Sub-Inspector Dayachand Meena. “We have filed an FIR and taken some people into custody.”

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
