Uttar Pradesh teen kidnapped, killed over financial dispute; four minors arrested
A 16-year-old student was kidnapped and killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh allegedly over a financial dispute. Police arrested four minors in connection with the crime.
The victim, Uzaid Khan, was a Class 10 student at a local school. His friends allegedly called him from home three days ago and took him in a car. They later killed him and buried his body in a forested area in Poore Ojha village. His family reported him missing, and police registered a case.
Authorities used CCTV footage and other electronic evidence to track the suspects. During questioning, the accused admitted to the crime, saying they killed him due to a money-related dispute.
On Saturday, police took the accused to the location where they had buried the body. The remains were recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination.
Security forces were deployed in the area as a precaution due to communal sensitivities. Additional Superintendent of Police said, “The murder was committed over a financial matter. The accused have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are underway.”
