Aamir Khan was in ‘no state’ to attend Andaz Apna Apna re-release amid Pahalgam tragedy
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan chose not to attend the special screening of his 1994 film’ Andaz Apna Apna’, held recently in Mumbai. The screening, organised for the film’s cast and crew, saw Khan bow out as he was deeply disturbed by the “senseless killings” in Pahalgam on April 22.
‘Andaz Apna Apna’ hits theatres again on April 25. Ahead of that, he spoke to Bollywood Hungama and expressed his feelings, saying, “I was reading reports about what happened at Pahalgam in Kashmir. I have been badly affected by the senseless killing of innocents. I was in no state to go (to the preview). I will see it sometime later this week.”
The horrific Pahalgam attack carried out by armed terrorists claimed the lives of 26 tourists and left many others injured. The brutal massacre sent shockwaves across the nation, drawing widespread condemnation – including from several film industry celebrities. In the aftermath of the attack, multiple film events and screenings were postponed.
‘Andaz Apna Apna’, a cult classic featuring Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor, tanked at the box office but gained a massive following over the years. Written and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the comedy film is also available to stream on Prime Video.
