Actor Ranya Rao gold smuggling case update
Kannada actor Ranya Rao, the stepdaughter of a senior police officer who was arrested for smuggling gold, denied her involvement in the racket and claimed that she was “trapped” during questioning by authorities, sources said. The actor, who was arrested with gold bars worth Rs 12 crore strapped to her body in a hidden belt, broke down during questioning and continued to claim innocence before officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
