Chandrababu Naidu, Jr NTR congratulate Nandamuri Balakrishna for Padma Bhushan honour

Actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna was one of the 139 veterans to be honoured with a Padma Award on the eve of Republic Day. Popularly called Balayya or NBK, he was bestowed with a Padma Bhushan on January 25. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, actors Jr NTR and Venkatesh Daggubati congratulated him for the honour.

Nandamuri Balakrishna was one of 19 Indians to be honoured with the third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan, for his dedication to the Telugu film industry and his longstanding legacy in Indian cinema.

Chandrababu Naidu congratulated NBK, and wrote on X, “Heartfelt congratulations to Telugu cinema legend and Hindupur MLA, Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna Garu, on being conferred the Padma Bhushan! Upholding the legendary NTR Garu’s legacy, you have excelled in cinema, politics, and philanthropy. Your dedication to public welfare, particularly through the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, has touched countless lives and inspired millions. This is a well-deserved honor for a true icon and compassionate leader!”

Actor Jr NTR wished uncle NBK on X, “Heartiest congratulations to Bala Babai on being honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award. This recognition is a testament to your unparalleled contributions to cinema and your relentless public service (sic).”

Venkatesh Daggubati posted on X, “Many congratulations to Balayya on the prestigious Padma Bhushan!! A well- deserved honour for your monumental impact on cinema and your dedication to public service!”

The Padma Awards were presented in three categories on January 25 – Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. This year, 139 Padma Awards were given to people for their contribution across disciplines – seven Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 124 Padma Shri Awards were announced.
