Hercules pillars hold world record – Indian athlete sets world record for holding Hercules pillars, Elon Musk reposts video
Indian athlete Vispy Kharadi has etched his name into the Guinness World Records by achieving the ‘longest duration holding Hercules pillars (male)’ in Surat, Gujarat. He held the massive pillars, which weighed 166.7 kg and 168.9 kg, for 2 minutes and 10.75 seconds.
The pillars, inspired by Greek architecture, measured 123 inches in height and had a 20.5-inch diametre. Guinness World Records officially recognised the feat as they shared a video of the same in a post on X.

The video prompted Tesla CEO Elon Musk to repost it. The clip shows Kharadi gripping the two towering structures.
Reacting to Musk’s post, Kharadi said, “It was indeed a good surprise when I got to know that Elon Musk shared my Guinness World Record Video on X. Feeling so happy and on cloud 9. Moreover, it gives me immense pride that an Indian is being praised worldwide in the field of strength.”
A glance at Kharadi’s bio on X reveals his impressive credentials: multiple black belt holder, 13-time Guinness World Record achiever, and a trainer for Border Security Force (BSF) commandos in unarmed combat.
