‘If you block our water…’ Pak Army official parrots Hafiz Saeed in threat to India
In yet another example of the chilling convergence of rhetoric of the Pakistan Army and the country’s terror network, a Pakistani military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, threatened India using language strikingly similar to that of designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
A video of an Army official at an event at a Pakistani university shows him saying, “If you block our water, we will choke your breath.” He was apparently referring to India’s recent move to suspend the water-sharing treaty after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
This comment mirrors that of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed, who allegedly said, “If you stop the water, God willing, we will stop your breath, and then blood shall follow in these rivers,” according to videos shared by people on the internet, who drew similarities between the comments.
