Virat Kohli commented on the intense rivalry between RCB and CSK and the experience of playing the fixture at the Chinnaswamy stadium. RCB and CSK will once again lock horns in the IPL 2025 season in a fixture that has delivered so many big moments in the past few seasons.
Kohli has been a part of this intense rivalry from the very first season of the IPL and commented on what makes the fixture so special when it is played at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Speaking on ‘18 Calling 18’ on JioHotstar, the star batter said that a lot of CSK fans make the trip to the Chinnaswamy for the game and take over a section of the stadium.

Kohli said that the environment inside the Chinnaswamy during RCB vs CSK has been the most exciting one he has been a part of.
“I would say one team that, historically, I’ve felt we’ve had the most intense games with is Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru. Because in Chennai, of course, there are Chennai fans—it’s just yellow and CSK fans everywhere. But to play against CSK in Bengaluru is something else, because a lot of Chennai fans come to Bengaluru. CSK fans travel in huge numbers, so they buy tickets very early and take over a section of the stadium.”
“So, there’s an intense atmosphere inside the stadium in Bengaluru when playing against CSK. And then, obviously, the game also gets very intense and competitive. That environment is the most exciting I’ve been a part of,” said Kohli.
‘RCB face CSK with aim to go top of the table’
The clash between RCB and CSK will be an important one for the hosts as they look to climb back to the top of the points table on Saturday, May 3. Chennai have already been knocked out of the competition and will be playing for pride.
Earlier in the season, RCB secured a convincing win over CSK at the Chepauk and broke their jinx in Chennai.
