Jammu to Kerala, ‘Bharat Jodo Vivah’ wedding invitation takes internet by storm
A wedding invitation, shared on social media, by the bride-to-be is tugging at the collective heartstrings. Abhilsha Kotwal’s X post of her wedding invitation “Bharat Jodo Vivah” got much traction for its heartwarming message of unity.
Sharing the wedding invitation card, she wrote, “When your wedding is more diverse than a coalition government, you know it’s truly special! @RahulGandhi @priyankagandhi — our love story embodies the values you champion. Would be honored to have your blessings!”
Taking the unique reference to “Bharat Jodo Yatra” led by Rahul Gandhi, the couple, Abhilasha Kotwal and Vinal William, highlighted their distinct regional backgrounds in a way that touched many hearts.
Abhilasha hails from Jammu and Bengal, while Vinal has roots in Punjab and Kerala. Their wedding invite proudly refers to Abhilasha as the “daughter of Jammu and Bengal” and Vinal as the “son of Punjab and Kerala,” celebrating their diverse origins.
The title ‘Bharat Jodo Vivah’ also reflected the deeper meaning behind their union.
Inspired by the Congress party’s march across the country, which aimed at bringing Indians together across states and cultures, the wedding invitation visually resembled the Bharat Jodo Yatra posters, using similar colors and design elements.
Abhilasha even invited the two Congress leaders to their wedding. This is not just a symbolic gesture, there’s a unique connection. Years ago, Abhilasha’s mother had designed Priyanka Gandhi’s wedding invitation. To top it, she hand-delivered an invitation to the residence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The invitation sparked widespread admiration on social media including some light-hearted political banter. While some see the invite as a beautiful symbol of togetherness, others humorously link it to political movements.
The invite has sparked a variety of reactions, from admiration to light-hearted political banter. Regardless, the message of unity and diversity continues to resonate with many.
