Karnataka commits Rs 1 lakh crore to alleviate Bengaluru’s traffic challenges

In a move to address Bengaluru’s notorious traffic congestion, the Karnataka government has announced a substantial investment of Rs 1 lakh crore. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar revealed that this funding will be allocated to major infrastructure projects, including the construction of tunnel roads and a sky deck, aiming to significantly improve the city’s traffic flow.

TUNNEL ROADS AND SKY DECK

The proposed tunnel roads are expected to provide alternative routes beneath the city’s surface, effectively reducing surface-level traffic and easing congestion in critical areas.

Additionally, the sky deck project envisions elevated pathways designed to streamline vehicular movement and offer commuters a faster, more efficient travel experience.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

This ambitious plan underscores the Karnataka government’s dedication to sustainable urban development and its proactive approach to resolving Bengaluru’s traffic woes.

By investing in these large-scale infrastructure projects, the administration aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and support the city’s continued growth as a major economic hub.

Deputy CM DK Shivakumar emphasised the importance of these initiatives, stating that they are crucial steps toward building a more efficient and commuter-friendly Bengaluru.

The government’s commitment reflects a strategic vision to transform the city’s transportation infrastructure and address long-standing traffic challenges.
