Kashvee Gautam ruled out of tri series due to injury, to be replaced by Kranti Goud
India women’s all-rounder Kashvee Gautam has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-series due to an injury. Gautam made her international debut during the first match of the series against Sri Lanka following a brilliant season for Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025).
The right-arm seamer returned figures of 0/28 in eight overs on her debut as India won the match by nine wickets. However, Gautam’s debut series has been cut short after three matches due to a leg injury, India Today has learnt. The 22-year-old remained wicketless in the three matches played in the series and scored 22 runs.
She’s set to be replaced by Kranti Goud, who’s yet to make her international debut and has played eight matches for UP Warriorz in the WPL. The right-arm seamer has scalped six wickets from eight innings in her career. Meanwhile, India are on top with two wins from three wins having four points to their name. They began the series with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Sri Lanka and further registered a thrilling 15-run victory over South Africa.
However, India’s victorious run came to an end as Sri Lanka beat them by three wickets in their third fixture and registered their first win over them since 2018. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will next take on South Africa in their next fixture on Wednesday, May 7.
The Proteas women will be desperate for a win in the upcoming fixture to stay alive in the series as they remain the only team yet to win a single game so far. Another loss will knock them out of the competition leaving India and Sri Lanka to battle it out in the final on May 11.
