Nepal Earthquake – Earthquake of magnitude 5.47 strikes Nepal


An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 struck Nepal early on Friday, causing tremors felt across the Himalayan region. Tremors were also felt in Patna and nearby areas of Bihar in India.

The earthquake occurred at around 2.35 am in the Bagmati Province of Nepal, which is 189 kilometres north of Muzaffarpur in Bihar, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake is considered moderate and can cause noticeable effects, especially near the epicentre, including the shaking of buildings and the formation of cracks.

The extent of the seismic activity is yet to be ascertained, and no reports of damages or casualties have been reported so far.
