Jaffar Express train hijacked live updates: A passenger train in Pakistan carrying around 500 people was hijacked by Baloch separatists in the country’s restive Balochistan province on Tuesday. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants stopped the Jaffar Express in a tunnel and claimed that they had taken 182 hostages and 11 Pakistani military personnel had been killed. The BLA, a militant separatist group seeking autonomy for the region, has also threatened to execute all hostages if security forces didn’t retreat. The train, which was coming from Quetta and going towards Peshawar, was attacked and efforts were being made to establish contact with the people on board, government officials said.
