PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss criticises DMK government over no arrests in Kallakurichi rape-murder case – Tamil Nadu News
Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Anbumani Ramadoss has strongly criticised the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government for failing to make any arrests in the alleged rape and murder of a woman in Kallakurichi, even after a week since the crime occurred.
The incident unfolded on December 26, when a woman from Thimmavaram went to the Cooperative Milk Society around 7 pm to sell milk but never returned home. The next day, her body was discovered in a cornfield, sparking outrage and calls for swift justice.
Anbumani alleged that the woman was brutally raped and murdered and expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in the investigation. “Her death is an unfortunate example that women are not safe in Tamil Nadu after DMK came to power. Even after a week since the murder occurred, the accused have not been arrested, and it shows the police’s lack of investigative ability,” he said.
The PMK leader’s sharp remarks come amid growing public frustration over delays in apprehending the culprits. Anbumani urged the government to prioritise women’s safety and ensure swift justice for the victim’s family.
The case has put pressure on the Tamil Nadu police, with activists and opposition parties questioning the efficiency of law enforcement under the current administration. Further updates on the investigation are awaited.
