Suriya and director Vetri Maaran’s long-pending Vaadivaasal to go on floors
Actor Suriya and director Vetri Maaran’s long-pending film, Vaadivaasal, is all set to go on floors. The film was announced in 2020 and since then there has been some excitement surrounding the project, which marks first collaboration between Suriya and Vetri Maaran. However, it has been postponed for nearly five years due to Suriya and Vetri Maaran’s commitments. The film is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu.
On January 15, producer Thanu shared a photo with director Vetri Maaran and Suriya announcing the beginning of work on Vaadivaasal. He captioned the post in Tamil, which is loosely translated as “the Vaadivaasal is open to the blessing of the world.”

The term Vaadivaasal is related to Jallikattu (a traditional sport in Tamil Nadu), which refers to the gate through which the bulls are released. The film is based on a novel written by CS Chellappa.
Back in 2020, composer GV Prakash was roped in as the music director. It is to be seen if he is still a part of the team. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew of Vaadivaasal will be announced soon.
