Vishal Dadlani slams Studio Ghibli trend
While many stars are following the Studio Ghibli trend, singer-composer Vishal Dadalni seems to be unimpressed with the same. Expressing his disapproval on Instagram Stories, he slammed the trend as ‘AI Plagiarisation.’
Vishal Dadalni in a note on his Instagram story, urged fans not to tag him in posts featuring his Ghibli-style avatar. Expressing anger over the viral trend, Dadlani wrote, “Sorry I’m not sharing any of the Studio Ghibli-style images you guys have made of or for me. I just can’t bring myself to support AI’s plagiarisation of an artist’s life’s work. Not to mention the environmental horror that those images are. Please do NOT make any more. Thank you (sic).”
The Studio Ghibli Style images can be made on OpenAI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gork AI. However, due to an increase in demand, the app owners have made it premium.
Meanwhile, Japanese animator and Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki has strongly opposed AI-generated animation, calling it an “insult to life itself.”
On the work front, Dadlani currently serves as a judge alongside Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah. Due to the show’s soaring popularity, its grand finale has been postponed.
